Muzaffarabad: In the 18th match of the Kingdom Valley Kashmir Premier League (KPL), season two, Jammu Janbaz came up with an unprecedented strategy to pin down Bagh Stallions.

Janbaz, after winning the coin-toss, bravely took the bat on. Sharjeel Khan, started off in his usual fashion, hammering all around the pitch to upped the scoring rate.

Even after Sahibzada Farhan’s dismissal, the southpaw did not held back his flair. Meanwhile, the new man, Shahzeb, also opened up his arms and Jammu Janbaz posted the record power-play score of the season, 71/1.

Sharjeel raced to his fifty off 23 deliveries. Jammu crossed the hundred-run mark in the ninth over, however soon their downfall started, first Sharjeel went packing after a brisk 66 off 31 balls (seven fours and five maximum). In the process Sharjeel Khan became the lone man to score 500+ runs in the KPL.

Sharjeel’s dismissal let the Bagh Stallions dominate the game to uproot wickets at regular intervals.

Jammu could reach 169, before getting bundled out in the last over. With 24 runs, Shahzeb was the other prominent batter for Janbaz.

Amer Jamal picked up three wickets for Stallions, Aamer Yameen chipped in with a couple.

Kamran Akmal, Bagh’s opener, started apace at reach 51 off 32 deliveries. Akmal stroked eight fours and a six in his innings.

Janbaz tightened the screws, over the game, a dismissed their opponents one by one. After 10, over Bagh were reeling at 80/4.

The Stallions’ sorry tale continued as they reach at a point to get 27 runs in the last two overs, with a couple of wickets in hand.

Fast bowler Najam Naseer Kiyani, pulled the reigns further with his third wicket, to limit Stallions to get 14 runs in the final over.

Jammu Janbaz won the match by four runs.

Najam Naseer Kiyani was the bowler with figures of 3-41 in four overs.

Sharjeel Khan was awarded player of the match.
