Muzaffarabad: In the eleventh game, of the Kingdom Valley Kashmir Premier League, season two, Sarfraz Ahmed utilised his experience well to earn his side, Kotli Lions, an impressive victory over Jammu Janbaz.
While batting first, Sharjeel Khan, of Jammu Janbaz, started off briskly and hammered 81, decorated with five fours and seven towering maximum. The southpaw opener consumed 48 deliveries for his knock. The other notable contributor was captain Faheem Ashraf, who stroked 21-ball 25 runs.
Hassan Khan bowled brilliantly with figures of a couple of wickets at the expense of just 11 runs in his three overs.
Irfan ullah Shah and Basit Ali also bagged two scalps each.
Jammu Janbaz ended up with 162/8 in the allotted overs.
Ahsan Ali provided Kotli Lions with a desired start however his dismissal (53 off 36) hampered his team’s cause. Janbaz’s leg spinner, Usama Mir tightened the screws further with his economical spell of one wicket for only 16 runs in four overs.
Kotli’s wickets were tumbling but Sarfraz Ahmed calmly held one end and crossed his fifty. The match went down to the last over where Hasan Mohsin hit two successive boundaries and dragged Kotli Lions to victory, by four wickets, with four balls to spare.
Sarfraz Ahmed remained unbeaten on 40-ball 52, including six boundaries.
Janbaz’s skipper, Faheem Ashraf, bagged a couple of wickets.
Kotli’s Sarfraz Ahmed adjudged the player of the match.
