Muzaffarabad: The fourteenth game, of the Kingdom Valley Kashmir Premier League (KPL), season two, was welcomed by dark clouds hence Bagh Stallions, didn’t hesitate to invite Kotli Lions to bat first, after winning the coin-toss.

Lions lost their captain, Khurram Manzoor, for just two runs to his credit. After two overs, Kotli Lions were 4/1 when rain came down to spoil the show.

The play resumed after about two hours however curtailed to nine-over per side.

Lions started off briskly and Omair Yousuf and Ahsan Ali dragged the score beyond fifty. Rumman Raees got three wickets, for just 11 runs, in two overs – Ahsan Khan (37), Omair Yousaf (19) and Danish Aziz (zero) – to pull things back in Stallions’ favour.

Hassan Khan (9*) and Sarfraz Ahmed (10*) escorted Kotli Loins to 86-4 in the allotted nine overs.

In reply Stallions openers, Sohaib Maqsood and Kamran Akmal got their side to a flying start. Maqsood (17 off 9 balls) was snapped up by Basit Ali however Akmal kept on stroking around the wicket. Kamran perished on 37 off 17 deliveries, with four boundaries and a couple of maximum. Later Muhammad Sarwar finished up the match by six wickets. Sarwar made an eight-ball 17.

Rumman Raees, of Bagh Stallions, was named the player of the match.

With five points, in four games, Bagh Stallions have advanced to second pedestal on points table.
